The “Cleaner” plunges us into the murky world of espionage and global conspiracy. Alton Thibodeaux, a reclusive free-lance asset, a Cleaner, in New Orleans, is drawn into a deadly game when he learns that someone is cleaning the cleaners. His orders come through an NSA Numbers Station which he has under surveillance in hopes of uncovering the culprits, tapping his only friend for advice, aging mentor and former Director of National Intelligence, Jed Birch. Meanwhile, Casey Neddow, a young NSA analyst in Virginia, discovers hidden transmissions in the agency’s logs. Her sense of duty forces her to confront a brutal conspiracy that will go to any length to protect its secrets. Alton engages with enemies who know his every move and allies he can barely trust. When Alton gets orders to eliminate a local attorney, he unwittingly puts a new target in the crosshairs, Jolene Teagarden, a daughter he never knew existed.
